Magneto-optical responses of magnetic garnet composite films with Au, Ag and Au-Ag alloy particles

Abstract(in English) In magnetic garnet (Bi:YIG) composite films with Au particles, Faraday effect that is one of magneto-optical effects is enhanced by localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Although we fabricated in Bi:YIG composite films with Ag particles in order to utilize the LSPR at short wavelength region, Faraday rotation did not change. It can cause formation of a compound in interface between Ag particle and Bi:YIG by heating process of crystallization of Bi:YIG. Composite films with Au-Ag alloy particles, the enhancement of Faraday rotation was observed at between Au and Ag LSPR wavelengths.
