Development of optical cavity embedded super conducting nanowire single photon detectors

Abstract(in English) We report on the development of optical cavity embedded superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (OC-SNSPDs) with compact fiber coupled packaging technique. OC-SNSPD consists of Au mirror, SiO cavity and NbN nanowire on MgO substrate and anti reflection (AR) layer. To achieve efficient coupling, the thickness of MgO substrate was reduced down to 45μm by mechanical polishing, and installed into compact package blocks. From the system DE measurement at different substrate thickness and simple estimation of Gaussian beam profile, we can confirm ~98% of input light beam could irradiated into 15×15μm^2 nanowire area from back side of substrate without any lens system. An NbN OC-SNSPD achieved system DE of 9.5% at 1550nm and 25% at 1310nm wavelength, respectively at dark count rate of 100c/s.
