Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, Web browsing opportunities using terminals with various display sizes have increased due to developments of a variety of Web terminals such as mobile phones and PDAs. We have proposed the Web-page layout optimization method for adapting to the browsing size at a terminal, for an Web page that has been created by following certain rules. Unfortunately, the resulting layout becomes vertically long at a small browsing size, and increases vertical scroll operations to access contents with lower priorities. In this paper, we propose the display-area transition function using the button operation to improve the accessibility. For the better usability, this function reorganizes the layout after calculating the boundaries of display areas at the current browsing size so that it always displays the button at the top of the Web-page. We verify the effectiveness of our proposal through questionnaire results on accessibility for an Web page generated by this method.
