Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a method for detecting human movement using beacon signals of a wireless LAN. The proposed method uses the fluctuation of a beacon signal when a human moves. For stable and accurate detection, we focus on the variance of measured beacon signals over time as a signal processing technique. From evaluation in an actual environment, we confirmed that the proposed method can be used to achieve a detection rate of more than 90%, meaning that our method is effective for detecting human movement as crime prevention measures.
