Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Due to the recent downsizing of computers and development of sensing techniques, sensor networks, in which compact sensors construct information networks and communicate with each other, have attracted great attention. In general sensor networks, a sink node collects the sensing data that sensors connected to the network measure. To construct a large-scale sensor network, the system must exploit multiple sink nodes and integrate multiple sensor stations. In such a sensor network integrating multiple stations, clients collect sensing data from each station. However, this approach causes much collection time since the client has to communicate with all sink nodes. In this paper, we propose a data collection system using mobile agents. In the system, clients generate mobile agents. The mobile agents execute the programs migrating in the sensor network, and return to the client. The communication traffic can be reduced and clients can collect sensing data rapidly.
