Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel fast adaptive directional lifting-based wavelet transform (ADLWT) by using dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT). Conventionally, a lifting direction is decided by the high-pass filtering for some selective directions. The optimal direction gives minimum energy of the high-pass filtered output signal. However, this procedure suffers from the large amount of computational cost. In this paper, a novel decision method of the lifting direction is proposed by utilizing DTCWT. The computational cost can be reduced by the proposed method while keeping the visual quality of the compressed image obtained by the conventional ADLWT.
