Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes an efficient compression technique based on cosine-modulated filter banks (CMFB's). Subband filters of traditional CMFB's do not have linear phase property. This prevents from employing a symmetric extension in coding process, and leads to a degradation of the image compression performance. However, a recently proposed smooth extension alleviates the problem with CMFB's. In this paper, we present a novel design method of regularity constraint on lattice parameters of a prototype filter in paraunitary CMFB's. We also derive a regularity condition for perfect reconstruction CMFB's.
