Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses an overall framework of a RTL datapath which has robustness against the variability of control timings: switching timings of MUXs and write timings at registers. The satisfaction of each timing constraint in a resultant datapath is partly ensured by the ordered clocking and partly ensured by a timing margin. A novel resource sharing condition based on this framework is also derived. As a result, in the following design stages, designers can concentrate only on register-to-register path delay to optimize circuit performance. The latency minimization problem based on the proposed design is formulated. For this problem, this paper presents two algorithms and evaluates them by computational experiments.
