A Note on the Evaluation for Dependable Processors

Abstract(in English) In this report, using the idea of "system cycle," we discuss the performance overhead on dependable processors. First, the expected value and the standard deviation of the performance overhead are analytically considered and are represented as approximate expressions. The concrete model of a dependable processor is secondly configured to derive the expected value and the standard deviation in explicit form. Moreover, numerical examples in calculating the performance overhead and the relative performance show the comparison between the results form analytical approximate expressions and the ones from Monte Carlo simulations.
