Abstract(in English) SWNT is an attractive material as an ultrahigh-speed saturable absorber in a passively mode-locked fiber laser as it has ultrahigh-speed nonlinear response faster than 1ps in the near-infrared region. In this work, we fabricated a film-type SWNT/P3HT (poly-3-hexylthiophene) saturable absorber coated on an aromatic polyamide film which has both high heat resistance and high transparency, and applied this material to a passively mode-locked fiber laser by inserting it between the two fiber connectors. With this saturable absorber, the satrable absorption effect can be controlled by changing the number of the inserted films. By inserting two films in the cavity, 113fs, 42MHz pulse was successfully generated.
