Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We report the applicability of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with uniform air-hole structure to high-speed and wide-band transmission over telecommunication bands. We show the maximum effective area of the PCF with both the single-mode operation and low bending loss, and also clarify the impact of the large effective area on the nonlinearity reduction and Raman amplification. We also design the dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) for the PCF and show the designed DCF can realize the wide-band dispersion compensation.
