Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents effects of joint modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selection for Maximum Likelihood Detection (MLD) based signal detection in 2-by-2 OFDM-MIMO multiplexing using antenna-dependent adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scheme. The influences of channel estimation error for MLD based signal detection and SNR (signal-to-noise power ratio) measurement error for MCS selection using reference signal (RS) is considered in the simulations. Simulation results clarify that a joint MCS selection can achieve the best achievable throughput, since it selects the best MCS set according to the instantaneous received SNR regardless of MCS sets applied. It is also shown that the loss in the achievable throughput of an independent MCS selection from the joint MCS selection is suppressed into low level by using an appropriate MCS set, in which the same modulation schemes are arranged continuously in the increasing order of peak data rate, though it becomes approximately 1-2dB in other cases.
