Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report proposes a receiver employing iterative multiuser detection (MUD) for MIMO-OFDM interleave-division multiple access (IDMA) that is the extension of IDMA and OFDM, called OFDM-IDMA, into MIMO transmission, and evaluates transmission performances of the receiver. IDMA is a multiple access technique that separates multiple users by using a low-rate channel code and an individual interleaver for each user. Thus, IDMA is expected to improve spectrum efficiency in mobile communications. The proposed low-complexity iterative MUD exploits log-likelihood ratios of coded bits (bit LLR) provided by the channel decoders for MIMO-OFDM IDMA, which spatially multiplexes multiple streams. In the initial process, since bit LLRs are not available, the iterative MUD performs MMSE detection, that is, it detects MIMO signals of the desired user by suppressing signals of the other users. In an iterative process, for detecting a stream of the desired user, the iterative MUD generates replicas of the interfering signals that consist of both other streams of the desired user and all streams of the other users by exploiting the bit LLRs, subtracts the replicas from the received signal, and then performs MMSE filtering to suppress the residual interference and to combine the desired stream. Computer simulations verify transmission performances of the proposed iterative MUD for MIMO-OFDM IDMA and effects of the number of iterations on the transimission performances. Moreover, it is shown that MIMO-OFDM IDMA can acheive better performance than OFDM-IDMA under the same transmission rate.
