Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we present a new paging algorithm for wireless networks with ultra-short range radio access links (picocells). The ubiquitous office network can be an example for such a network. Such a network might be deployed in the near future in office environments. Persons, personal equipments and office equipments might be outfitted with u-office mobile terminals. Everything will be connected everywhere and every time. Starting with example applications we show that paging in such a network is an important task. We derive a new paging algorithm from measurment results from an experimental sensor network with short range wireless links deployed in our office. Our main observation is that if a picocell shows an attraction property to a certain person then the residence time of an attached mobile terminal is not gamma distributed as published in literature and the probability of long-lasting residences increases. Thus if the residence time is larger than a certain threshold the probability of a long-lasting residence time increases.
