Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a recognition method of direct gesture as communication tool with a robot. This system recognizes gestures "Come here" gesture and "Go away" gesture. These gestures are similar hand movement. First, we analyzed about the movement of hand waving observed from a side, in order to extract the feature difference from similar movements. The results are the following: (1) Hand waving gesture is cycle movement. (2) The individuality was seen by these gestures. (3) The feature different depending on the gestures was obtained. These gestures were distinguished by each feature of wrist Angle. We reflected these feature to movement observed from the fronts, and performed gesture recognition by frequency analysis using these features. Then, we construct robot control system using this recognition method.
