Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NTT has proposed "Variable Polarization Frequency Division Multiplexing (VPFDM)" system for Ku broadband mobile satellite communication system. VPFDM utilizes V/H dual polarizations and multiple-carrier simultaneously. In VPFDM system, since the earth station does not track V/H dual polarizations, the quality of the received signals is degraded due to cross-polarization interference. Moreover, each polarization signal undergoes different frequency offsets in transmission channel, Therefore, the cross-polarization interference and frequency offsets have to be cancelled precisely and simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a highly accurate and wide range frequency offset estimator for VPFDM system with low C/N ratio. We evaluate the performance of proposed frequency offset estimator and VPFDM signal transmission with proposed circuits by computer simulations. Moreover, to utilize transmission power and frequency band in satellite transponder, we confirm the performance of VPFDM with proposed circuit and adaptive modulation.
