Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Under integrated systems of communication and broadcasting, the lost data in broadcasting is recoverable with a retransmission request scheme through the communication channel. When the transmission data is encoded with erasure recovery codes such as LDPC, the amount of retransmission traffic changes depending on which data is requested. This paper focuses on the LDPC Staircase algorithm, and proposes the retransmission request scheme that enables the lost data recovery with the low amount of retransmission traffic. The scheme counts the effective data for the LDPC decoding, and selects the retransmission symbols for utilizing all effective parity symbols. The experimental result shows that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of retransmission traffic compared to the existing schemes.
