Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The throughput performance of all stations in wireless LANs is degraded when some stations use a lower transmission rate. In this paper, we especially focus on this performance anomaly in IEEE 802.11a where stations can share the AP with some different transmission rates, and show that the performance anomaly is not occur when station with lower transmission rate can not receive ACK frame of station with higher transmission rate from AP. Based on this results, we propose new rate selection scheme in order to increase the throughput performance and clearly show that proposed scheme enhance the throughput performance not only station with lower transmission rate, but also total throughput by simulation.
