| 抄録(和) | インターネットトラヒックの増加に伴い,ネットワーク機器の電力消費量が急増しており,ネットワーク機器に関する省電力化が重要視されている.近年,LANスイッチやルータ等のNetwork Interface Card(NIC)の物理帯域によって消費電力量が異なることを利用して,到着トラヒック量に応じた動的な転送帯域制御による省電力化が検討されている.しかし,現状の最小コスト経路選択では,通信品質の観点からのメトリックに基づき通信経路を作成するため,様々な経路を利用してトラヒックが転送されることとなり,ネットワーク内の様々な機器において電力を消費するため,消費電力の観点から非効率的になることが考えられる.そこで本研究では,ネットワーク全体における省電力化を目指して,ネットワーク内のトラヒックをある経路に集約することによる省電力化手法を提案し,トラヒック量やパス長を考慮した集約経路の決定指針を示す. |
| 抄録(英) | For the energy efficient networking, some studies have proposed sleep control or adaptive control of the bandwidth of Network Interface Cards (NICs) depending on the arrival traffic load and have shown their effectiveness for power-saving of the network devices. However, the existing routing protocols only provide the minimum cost path by calculating static metric in terms of forwarding performance, e.g., the number of hops and the bandwidth of link, therefore the network devices may consume high energy due to concentration of the traffic on the minimum cost path. In order to reduce the energy consumption of networking devices more, this paper proposes a novel routing scheme, that aggregates arrival traffic depending on the total amount of traffic load in the network, for power-saving of networking devices. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme reduces sum of energy consumption of routers in the network when the traffic load is relatively light compared to the physical bandwidth of the aggregation path. |
