Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In response to the increase demand for ubiquitous information networking, the emerging new communication technologies such as various wireless communications or PLC (Power Line Communication) have been enabling us to utilize/provide networked information services even in environments where those services could not be realized so far. However, in such challenged environments, heavy packet losses, huge delays, or frequent disconnections are likely be seen, and thus it is needed to thoroughly and efficiently explore deficient network resources in space and time. Along this new technology trend for challenged networks, we tackle how to maximize the effective packet throughput over highly lossy multiple routes (communication paths) with very limited feedback. In this paper, taking a correlation between paths and a time-limitation on packet retrieval into consideration, we propose a packet loss recovery scheme using an XOR-based forward erasure correction, and show its effectiveness through numerical simulation.
