Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a single receiver requires data from multiple senders simultaneously, not only the minimum link bandwidth (bottleneck bandwidth) along each path but the bottleneck bandwidth within the common segment shared by multiple paths should be known to adequately decide the data sending rate. To infer such a bottleneck bandwidth of the shared path segment solely by active measurement between the senders and the receiver, we previously presented a basic idea of using pseudo-packet pairs. In this study, based on that idea, we propose an online method of inferring the shared bottleneck bandwidth, and evaluate accuracy and efficiency of the inference via network simulation.
