Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the paper many children's drawings are collected, and the characteristic of the shapes and the colors of the faces in the drawings are examined aiming for generating drawings of children by computers. Focusing on outer shapes, hair styles, and layouts of eyes and mouth, development of preschool-children's drawings is analyzed by classifying the patterns and the principal component analysis. The analysis shows that the shapes and colors of faces have differences in ages. At the age of three they only draw simple faces using limited number of colors without facial expressions, as they grow up they tend to draw happy faces by laid out the facial parts and chose correct facial colors.
