Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) On wireless communication channels such as inter-vehicle or road to vehicle communication, data bits need to be transmitted and received in real time without using retransmission strategy like ARQ. To achieve such wireless transmission with high reliability, we have proposed a novel scheme where multiple modulations having different BER values are multiplexed using CDM (Code Division Multiplex) and transmitted simultaneously from the transmitter, and at the receiver they are selectively demodulated depending on the receive E_b/N_0. We have considered frequency selective MIMO channels and SC-FDE (Single Carrier-Frequency Domain Equalization) is employed as the transmission scheme combined with CDD (Cyclic Delay Diversity) to cope with small number of delay paths having small delay times. Furthermore, we have proposed the selection method of demodulated bits based on the absolute value of bit-LLR (Log Likelihood Ratio) to set the receive BER to a specific value. Good UEP (Unequal Error Protection) characteristics have been obtained through the proposed scheme.
