Abstract(in English) This paper describes in detail the performance of a two-way multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounding method for enabling base stations (BSs) to obtain knowledge of the downlink channel states. In the system, a precoder provides multi-user communications. The mathematical formulation and the solution techniques of the two-way MIMO channel sounding method, which applies the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay scheme, have been described in previously. However, implementations of the AF relay scheme such as forward gain, dynamic range, and forward timing synchronization are overlooked and highly desirable in order to confirm the efficiency of the method in the practical application of a multi-user distributed antenna system (DAS). Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the required implementations of the MSs by examining the bit error rate (BER) performance. It has been shown that by applying the AF relay scheme, the two-way MIMO channel sounding method may have the advantage of simple implementation, as compared to the feedback technique used in the limited feedback scenario.
