Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By applying space-time coding, OFDM systems becomes more robust to multipath fading. In the case where a channel is unknown at the receiver, space-time coded symbols can be decoded by the well-known maximum likelihood (ML) scheme. However, the computational complexity of the ML is too expensive. In this article, we consider the application of the M-algorithm, which is known as an approximation scheme to the ML, to obtain a sub-optimum estimate with reduced complexity. Simulation results show that the symbol error probability obtained by the M-algorithm is almost the same as that obtained with a known channel in high SNR region.
