Abstract(in English) | This paper shows a GaAs FET broadband high efficiency power amplifier using the reactively matched amplifier technique with lossless elements. For wider bandwidth of the reactively matched amplifier, we propose a power amplifier circuit with high output impedances and small frequency dependence. The broadband amplifier is realized by he balanced cascode circuit technique applying output impedances of the amplifier control circuit for broadband matching. The output impedance control circuit is implemented with connected inductor to gate-source of common-gate FET in cascode configuration and capacitor to output in parallel, respectively. The amplifier has small frequency dependence with respect to real and imaginary part of output impedances for broadband matching. A broadband balanced cascode power amplifier achieves over 30% power-added-efficiency and over 32dBm output power in the target band. The amplifier is effective to terminals for Software defined radio that require the characteristics of broadband and high efficiency. |
