| Abstract(in English) | Recall and precision are used to evaluate the performance of full-text search systems, where recall and precision are related to errors of the first and second kind, respectively. We propose a new model of search systems and derive a quantitative relationship between recall and precision using results of joint source-channel coding theorems. |
