Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In sign language expressions there are thought to be aspects that are direct and have high universality. In this study, several aspects of sign language were elicited for application in the designs for pictograms in VUTE. Video recordings of 3 deaf participants of differing background were taken. The contents of the signing were typical conversations during travel. The video data were analyzed and signs or expressions with high universality were listed (pointing, classifier and signs with iconicity). These signs were further categorized into similar and/or differing characteristics.
