Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed a self-learning system for Braille (e-learning for Braille) for the people with acquired vision loss. First, we investigated a recognizable mark for each dot of the six of a Braille character. After 33 people with acquired vision loss rated five mark options on a scale of one to five, "+" mark was evaluated most recognizable as a dot in a Braille character on the screen. We used this mark for an e-learning system for Braille which consists of questions and answers. Next, we detected the level of proficiency of the learners by the scores of the system and the questionnaire data. Finally, the present study discusses issues including ones which the people with acquired vision loss face when learning Braille.
