Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A fiber Fabry-Perot etalon (FFPE) is made from an optical fiber fixed to a ferrule by evaporating mirrors on its both end faces. It can be applied for an optical tuner because its transmission frequency varies depending on the force applied to it. The stress sensitivity of an FFPE depends on the ferrule material. In the paper, stress sensitivity of two types of FFPEs is investigated, whose ferrule materials, borosilicate glass and zirconium oxide, have different Young's modulus. The stress sensitivity of FFPE with borosilicate glass ferrule was found to be 2.0GHz/N, while that for zirconium oxide ferrule was 0.69GHz/N. Thus, the stress sensitivity of FFPE revealed inverse proportionality to Young's modulus.
