Abstract(in English) | We designed and fabricated high temperature superconducting (HTS) band pass filters (BPFs) using ring-type bulk resonators made by a modified quenched melt growth (QMG) process and measured the frequency response and power-handling capability of the BPFs for transmit filters in mobile communication systems. 3-pole BPFs with 0.5-mm-thick ring resonators were designed. The HTS BPFs were fabricated using Dy-Ba-Cu-O and Gd-Ba-Cu-O QMG bulk ring resonators. The filtering properties were clearly observed in both the filters. From the results of the power-handling capability, the filters using Dy-Ba-Cu-O ring resonators showed a liner property until 10.9W and the filter was thermally quenched over 11W. On the other hand, the filter using Gd-Ba-Cu-O ring resonators also showed a liner property over 11W. From there results, Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk resonator is useful to apply for transmit filters. |
