Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the performance of covariance-based spectrum sensing of ATSC digital TV (DTV) signal in IEEE802.22 wireless regional area network (WRAN). WRAN operates over a vacant frequency band that is originally assigned to the terrestrial TV broadcast by using cognitive radio technology. Spectrum sensing is a key function of cognitive radio to avoid harmful interference for incumbent devices. In this paper, detection performance of covariance-based spectrum sensing for ATSC signal is investigated. Impact of noise uncertainty and shadowing to the detection performance is also evaluated, and is compared with that of energy detection-based spectrum sensing.
