Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method to estimate locations of neighboring APs near a specified AP without using absolute location from GPS system. The estimation utilizes relative location of APs calculated using the spring model where RSSI and detection probability are applied. Simulation results show that the nearest three APs can be estimated with probability of around 30%. We have developed software to visually show real-time relative locations of APs in real radio environment. The relative location is expected to apply to enhancement of communication quality for mobile terminals. The proposed method is flexible in service deployments because it requires no modification in architecture or functions of wireless access networks that have already deployed, and in hardware architecture of terminals.
