Food Image Analysis by Local Image Features

Abstract(in English) We have been developing a food-logging sysytem which can distinguish food images from other images, analyze the food balance, and visualize the log. In this paper, image analysi of this system is expalained. This paper describes the improvement in accuracy using the Bag of Features model in the extraction of food images and the estimation of food balance in this system. The experiments shows that the feature detection by the DoG processing is the highest-precision. The accuracy of the extraction of food images has improved by 3% and one of the estimation of the balance has improved by 5%.
