Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are attractive as an effective communication method in unstable network environments such as wireless ad-hoc networks. In DTNs, contents distribution performance is degraded compared with that in stable networks because of more frequent connection disruptions. To address this problem, it is useful to distribute content replicas to some network nodes. However, it is difficult to determine replica placement that is optimal for other nodes to obtain the contents because they cannot collect accurate node distribution. In this paper, we propose a node distribution estimation scheme in DTNs. Using the estimated node distribution, the content replicas are distributed to nodes of which high content distribution performance is expected. We also show that the proposed scheme achieves effective content replica placement and significantly improves content distribution performance.
