Characterizations of Optical Emission Excited by Traveling Electron Beam

Abstract(in English) Characteristics of the optical emission of 1.5μm utilizing a traveling electron beam and a high refractive index waveguide were quantitatively investigated. Experimental scheme is one type of the Cherenkov laser whereas dynamics of the electron beam were analyzed basing on the quantum mechanical treatment being the electron is represented as a spreading wave. Several basic parameters were proposed such as, inclusion coefficient of the spontaneous emission, coherent length of the electron wave, and relaxation time of the electron wave. These parameters were evaluated by comparing the theoretical analyses with experimental measurements of the optical power, optical spectrum and spatial distribution of electrons.
