Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network services based on distributed components, which provide advanced network services with lower cost by assorting and reusing useful components running on remote nodes, attract much attention. In this service, when a component fails, a component that has the same function running on another node can play a role of substitution. On the Other hand, there are three kinds of failures, the software failure at the component, the hardware failure at the node, and the failure at the physical network. In this paper, we propose a new method for identifying a failure in this network services, which determines not only a failure in application level but also the network layer and by collecting lower number of messages via multiple overlay network for failure detection.
