Abstract(in English) This report presents an approach of security measures for Kagawa University and its results during a few months monitoring. The approach includes two major parts, namely, network-based security measures and anti-virus software-based ones. The former has been achieved through two-level hierarchy of firewalls, which was introduced as one of the main facilities of Distributed Campus Information Network. The later has been carried out with PC-oriented anti-virus software, which are introduced as central purchasing for whole PCs in Kagawa University. The report also describes function of Unified Threat Management (UTM), classification of detected viruses, and estimated patterns of attacked accesses for university's network.
