Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper reports a prototype simple lightning detection system using networked multisite sensors and its experimental results. To achieve a low-cost system compared with the conventional systems, a simple structure based on a general-purpose personal computer is employed in a lightning detector. We experimentally demonstrate the feasibility of observing the lightning pulses by using a prototype system consisting of three lightning detectors deployed at three observation sites. We also discuss issues for improving the performance of the system.
