Abstract(in English) | Recently, as the amount of traffic through network grows, the necessity of sampling has been increasing for analyzing the traffic data rapidly. The sampling is classified into packet-based sampling and flow-based sampling. The former has an advantage that it is easy to be implemented and be used widely, but has a disadvantage that the obtained precision of flow statistics is bad. The latter has an advantage that it is superior to packet-based sampling for measuring the flow statistics. However, it has a disadvantage that there are no devices in which the flow-based sampling is implemented because it requires per-packet classification. In this paper, we propose the method which utilizes the wildcard mask of the access list in order to realize the flow-based sampling. Compared with a flow-based sampling by hashing, in case of that flows were not sampled so much, we confirmed that our proposed method was effective for actual network operation. |
