Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Polarization direction propagating through an optical fiber rotates depending on the twist of the fiber, which is proportional to its elongation in the case of optical curl cords. The polarization rotation rate for unit twist of a hole-assisted fiber is found to be 0.34 which is about five times larger than that of conventional fibers. Furthermore, it is found that nearly linearly polarized light rotated its polarization direction linearly depending on the curl code elongation over 100 degrees.
