Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High power GaN violet laser diode has been recently developed. The wavelength of the violet laser diode (405-nm) is comparatively shorter than conventional laser diodes and the light is highly absorbed by several materials. We expected new applications of the violet laser diode, especially, for dental treatment because the light is highly absorbed by hemoglobin in blood and periodontal bacteria. Here, we have presented our non-clinical experimental results for the surgical and bactericidal performance of the violet laser diode.
