Performance Comparison of Packet Discarding Schemes in a Router

Abstract(in English) In order to avoid congestionin a router, there exist a lot of methods is to regulate the router queue length by discarding some arriving packets. In this paper, we compare the performance of RED, ERED, BRED, FRED, ARED, SRED and Drop Tail. We use throughput and FairnessIndex as performance measures. As the result, FRED show the highest throughput and BRED show the highest FairnessIndex.
