Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose EMGUI(User Interface by ElectroMyoGraphy) and a method of motion recognition for EMGUI. EMGUI is conposed of 2 or more types of interface parts e.g, button and lever, which are desinged by considering the characteristics of EMG and motions. A button type UI parts is assigned instantaneous motions, and a lever type UI parts is assigned motions that have certain duration. For a button type UI, the motion is recognized by SVM using short-term features, and for a lever type UI, the motion is recognized by HMM usingshor-term features and time series pattern. We conducted experiences for verifying our framework and the recognizion of motions by using from 2 to 4 motions of arms and fingers, and the results shows the efficacy of the proposed method.
