Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, with the application of new technology of brainfunctional imaging such as fMRI and the new understanding of the process of cognition, preliminary results on the mechanism of brain in problem solving have been disclosed. Although researches have been carried out on investigating human problem solving, a long-term, holistic vision is still needed to uncover the principles and mechanisms undelying human information processing systems. In this paper, we attempt to understand the mechanism of cognitive processand dynamic spatiotemporal characteristics of human problem solving by taking mental arithmetic tasks as examples and multi-aspect fMRI data analysis and simulation. Some interesting results are reported.
