Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to investigate comprehension processes of expository texts that composed of two similar topics. Especially, we paid attention to possibilities of analogical inferences that occur between two topics. In particular, we manipulated present order of topics and description that show analogical relation between two topics, and we explored whether this manipulation affects reading time of text and recognition or not. The results showed that present order of topics affects reading time and recognition. This result suggested that reader's analogical inferences depend on how topic is presented firstly.
