Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a sound quality customization method based on a Paired Comparison Interactive Genetic Algorithm (PC-IGA). A user who is not familiar with music finds it difficult to customize the reproduction parameters to suit his preferences. Our solution is a system that customizes the reproduction parameters for a headphone use by an intuitive user input panel; the PC-IGA analyzes the user's inputs and generates the corresponding parameters. The system makes it easy, even for novices, to obtain the preferred sound quality. Results of a subjective assessment experiment, in which 20 year old students participated, demonstrate that the preferred sound quality could be obtained by using this system.
