Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Surface acoustic wave (SAW) device has advantages such as small size, high reliability, high quality, no tuning, and high frequency. The SAW filter for video intermediate frequency (VIF) of the television (TV) was developed at first as a consumer electronic application of SAW device. Afterwords, in addition to the applications to the car telephone, the cordless phone, the pocket bell, the SAW devices have been applied to the mobile telecommunications and cellular phone systems, and they are key devices for them. This report describes their SAW devices and their trends in the future.
