Abstract(in English) | Timing jitter of digital transmission systems has three components SS, SN and NN typically. The authors reported in a previous paper that the variance of SN and NN is proportional to PLL bandwidth while that of SS is proportional to its square. This is a strange situation and difficult to accept without further investigation. In this paper, mechanism of this strange phenomenon is analyzed and explained by employing jitter theory in the previous paper in which jitter PSD is represented by product of PLL characteristics and jitter source PSD. |
