Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a joint transmit beamforming and subcarrier power allocation method for downlink OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) systems. In the proposed beamforming method, we have employed a strategy of maximizing the ratio of the desired signal power at the desired mobile terminal to the radiant interference power from the base station to mobile terminals in other cells plus additive noise power. This approach enables us to reduce both the computational complexity of the weight calculation and the amount of channel state information feedback. As for the power allocation scheme, we have taken two different approaches, namely, minimization of average BER (Bit Error Rate) and maximization of attainable sum rate. Computer simulation results show the validity of the proposed method in terms of SINR (Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio), BER and sum rate performance. Moreover, we discuss characteristics of the two different power allocation schemes via numerical results.
